Center for Women’s Rights and Leadership Launches SheInspires to Celebrate Emerging Gambian Women Leaders on International Women’s Day 2025

To mark International Women’s Day 2025, the Center for Women’s Rights and Leadership (CWRL) is proud to launch SheInspires, a flagship initiative spotlighting outstanding and emerging Gambian women leaders. These women have defied the odds, demonstrated resilience and perseverance to secure their place at the decision-making table, breaking barriers in their respective fields.

In this inaugural edition, CWRL will celebrate women leaders across diverse sectors, including media, law, justice and human rights, gender and social justice, science and technology, arts and culture, finance, corporate leadership, fashion and design, music and entertainment, education, sports, religion, politics, tourism and hospitality. These remarkable women, promising leaders in their own ways, are driving positive change and shaping the future of our nation.

Throughout Women’s Month, CWRL will feature the profiles of thirty (30) exceptional women on our platforms and media outlets. Their work and journey have inspired us. Through their dedication, excellence, and commitment, they have made a significant impact in their communities. They are role models, inspiring and motivating women and girls to dream big, excel, and become agents of change—paving the way for a more inclusive and progressive society.

By supporting these inspiring women, CWRL seeks to ensure that the legacy of our pioneers’ lives on and that new pathways are created for all women, regardless of background, status, or beliefs. These transformative women are central to building a future where intergenerational leadership thrives, opportunities are accessible, and barriers are broken thus changing the trajectory of our country.

We invite you to follow us in the coming weeks as we share the inspiring journeys of these outstanding women.

Happy International Women’s Month 2025!

Signed,
